Apple Picking

Today we went Apple Picking at Eastmont Orchards in Colts Neck.

I wanted to share an Apple Crisp Recipe I just used for our guests tonight.  It is super easy, and hopefully delicious.  I'm waiting to bake it til later so they walk in and can still smell it baking in the oven!

At first I wanted to make a yummy apple pie, but I didn't have any pie crusts in the freezer and I didn't want to go to the store...so here is Plan B.

Apple Crisp

5-6 apples
1/8 tsp salt
1 cup uncooked oatmeal
1/3 cup butter
1/2 cup flour
white sugar
3/4 cups of brown sugar

1. Slice the apples in baking dish (I used 9 by 13) you can used peeled or unpeeled apples (I peeled)
2. Sprinkle cinnamon and white sugar over apples.
3. Mix remaining ingredients with a fork and sprinkle on apples.
4. Bake at 350 degrees F for 35 minutes!

So easy!!!

  1. oh how fun! was there a nice selection there, we might go next weekend.

  2. There were so many different types of apples it was awesome! We got Golden Delicious, Macintosh, Jonathan, Red Delicious, and there were a few more rows we didn't get to! Enjoy, it was so worth it to us! The kids loved it!

  3. Fun family tradition! And thanks for the recipe; always appreciate those! xoxo C
