As my life as a mother/wife continues to get busier, I often ask myself, why do I still continue to blog during the week?
Well, first of all I love connecting with all of you! It's so fun to make friends, and share ideas and learn from each other here in blog land.
I also love to write. Putting my thoughts and fears and concerns, down on "paper" has always been cathartic for me, but also sharing my joys and successes and triumphs with other moms and families has also been exciting. Especially watching other families grow and learn and change throughout the years.
I started this blog as a way to have "me" time, to remember how this time period with children went, to journal my life so that one day my kids might be able to look back and see photos of themselves and read about the silly, great, and fun things we did as a family.
But as time has gone on I'm now committed to you, my reader, in making my blog a safe place to share my schooling ideas, my parenting style, my marriage, and my walk with Jesus. I'm just a mom trying to make it through each day like the rest of you. I have good days and bad days. I have moments when I can't stop laughing because of something the kids did, and other times I get overwhelmed with how quickly the dust and laundry piled up! I'm seeking to leave a wonderful legacy behind and hopefully trying to encourage other moms, women, and girls to be all that God has designed us to be. And not to mention a witness to others as I share my testimony of how I came to Christ and try to live for Him each day. It's also exciting to see my blog followers grow. I had a personal goal of reaching 100 followers this summer, and it looks like I just might make that goal! So thank you to all of you who are faithful readers, who leave comments, and who encourage me along the way.
It's also neat to hear from my guy followers from friends at church to old schoolmates, to my friend's husbands. It's great to have such a diverse following.
I blog because no matter how busy I get through out the day, the children always nap, and I always have time to stop, sit down, and think for a few minutes and try to share something that's been on my mind. I try to make you laugh at times, and other times I end up crying as I type, and I've heard from some of you sweethearts that you've cried right along with me...thank you for that. I think you can truly find kindred souls out there and connect with people through your writing. I recently watching the movie Julie and Julia with Meryl Streep and Amy Adams about the true story of the amazing French cook Julia Childs. Julie Powell takes on the goal of cooking over 500 recipes in 365 days and each day she blogs about her dishes. It was so neat to watch a movie about another determined blogger.
I think it's great that blogging can help moms connect and share ideas with other moms and women because getting inspired to do great things and make life wonderful for your family is truly a blessing. And who doesn't like to do that? We are all seeking to bless those that we love! So, my blog readers, I am committed to you to try to share, encourage, and bless you as I go through this journey at home with my "littles" (my Julia Star and my Mark Ciro).
And thank you for coming along for the ride! I hope you have been blessed and will continue to be!

ReplyDeleteI often feel this same way. When life gets busy, I think of things I can cut out to make more room. Blogging seems like the logical one to cut out - I mean, it's less important than food, right? Maybe, maybe not. I know I NEED to blog - I need to write because it helps me organize my mind and kind of acts like a form of therapy, especially when I'm able to share it with all the lovely women I've met since beginning blogging. All the input and support from other bloggers is so encouraging! Blogging keeps me sane, which is good for me AND good for my family! :o)
