Family Fun July 4th-5th

Spending time with my family doesn't have to be fancy, or extravagant.  All that matters is that we are all together.  Every one is having a good time.  And there is enough love to go all around.

This past holiday weekend was wonderful because we had John on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.  On Sunday (July 4th) we went to church, ate lunch, put the kids down for their nap, then we took them to Rita's Ices.  That was really fun.  I got a Green Apple Gelati and John got a Mango Gelati...the kids loved it.  It was like 3,000 degrees out, so it was so nice to spread a blanket under the shade and chow down on a cold treat.  Then we went house hunting in East Brunswick.

We took the kids to a new park off Rt 18 in Old Bridge, John Phillips Park.  Then we headed for a mini BBQ with Grandma Judy and Grandpa Jack.  It was quiet, hot, low-key, and fun.  We spent quality time together, and these days, that's all that matters to me.

On Monday (July 5) We packed the kids and the car and headed to the Farm in Holmdel Park.  John has never been there and so he was in for a real treat.  He loved it there.  The park is huge.  The animals were out and about.  And Julia was excited to show her daddy all the animals she saw last time, like the horses, chickens, cows, sheep, and big fat pigs.

On our way to see the horseys.
I was thankful to have John all to ourselves.  What a blessing a family can be.
