What do the colors in the American flag stand for?  What is the meaning behind the stars and the stripes?

Red is for...

*Hardiness and valor
*Red represents the blood spilled protecting our home
*Red: signifies bravery
*Red is for the blood of the patriots and those that fight for our country


White is for...                       Blue is for...
* Purity and innocence      * Vigilance, perseverance, and justice
* freedom                           * The color of the Chief (the broad band above the stripes)
