The Power of a Praying Wife: Week 8

My two favorite "boys" in the world.
Mark 12:30 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.

The Power of a Praying Wife by Stormie O'Martin
Chapter 7: His Mind

Hey thanks for sticking with me during this book study guys.  I hope you are finding it helpful.  Even if you aren't married yet, remember, you can still pray for your husband-to-be, even if you haven't met him yet.  Prayer is powerful, and God is always listening to our prayers.  God loves you and has great plans for you.  Jeremiah 29:11 promises that!

All men (and women) have an enemy that wants to "undermine what God desires to do in their lives."  All of us can get so busy with tyranny of the urgent, overwhelmed at work, stressed out at home, exhausted, burdened, or desperate.  Satan would love for our men to feel defeated and as if there are problems that are insurmountable.  And I'm a firm believer in the fact that Satan would love to keep us so busy and distracted with "silly issues" than trusting, relying, and deepening our faith/walk with God.  Satan will use any distraction, and try to keep us from finding face time (quiet time) with God.

The more time we are in God's Word, the more truth we hear, and the more confident we are in our lives, and Satan really hates this.  He wants us to be exhausted, bitter, angry, desperate, depressed, anything but living the life God has planned for us.  Have you ever seen the people you love trapped in sin, or these negative emotions?  Pray for them!  Pray that God will meet them where they are.  Pray they will stop running from God and have "face time" with Him.  Pray they will make reading God's Word a priority.  Pray God will meet them where they are and empower them to move forward.  Pray that you can bless them in their life somehow this week.  Pray your light, your life, will shine for Christ and encourage them to want the relationship you have with Jesus for themselves.  We are an example.  Our love, our life, the sacrifices we make for the people will love are a gift to our spouses and children.

Hebrews 4:12 (I love this verse) "The Word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."

Pray God's Word into your husband's life today.  Pray for your husband to receive "the mind of Christ and bring every thought captive under God's control."

Insert your husband's name:
*Pray for ________________ to have the mind of Christ
*Lord you have given ____________authority over all the power of the enemy  Luke 10:19
*Pray _____________ has a sound mind
*Pray _______________ will be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might Ephesians 6:10
*Help _____________ to think about whatever things are true, noble, just, lovely, pure, and good report, having virtue, or anything praiseworthy, let _____________ think on these things all day long Philippians 4:8

Love Dare #11
What need does your spouse have that you could meet today?  Can you run an errand?  Give a back rub or foot massage?  Is there housework you could help with?  Choose a gesture that says, "I cherish you" and do it with a smile.
