The Power of a Praying Wife Chapter 23: His Walk

Chapter 23: His Walk

Psalm 84:11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield; The Lord will give grace and glory; No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.

Proverbs 28: 18 Whoever walks blamelessly will be saved, but he who is perverse in his ways will suddenly fall.

Our walk is our journey through life.  It's the path we choose to take.  The choices we choose each day as we go through our time here on this earth.  We can choose to do things OUR WAY or we can choose to do things GOD'S WAY.  We all have a moment in our life when we choose to live for God or choose to be the god of our life.  The Bible is clear that there is only one way to live life on this earth that honors our maker and that is to choose Jesus to be Lord of our lives.  In John 14: 6, Jesus says, "I am the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except through Me."

The world says many paths lead to God.  Oprah says there is a higher power but call it what you will.  The Bible is perfectly clear: There is one path.  There is one true God.  And we will all call bow the knee some day, by choice or when we meet Him.   The path is narrow, and few people will choose it.  But Joyce Meyer says, "To be a confident person you sometimes have to do what is unpopular because it is right."

Matthew 7:13 says "Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.  Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it."

I believe with all my heart that Jesus is the way to God.  I have been changed by his awesome power.  I am confident in the choices that I make for my family and the path we are on.  I don't have to follow what the popular or mainstream society says.  I answer to God, not popular culture.  That means that I have made choices on purpose to honor God each day with my life.  I do my best to make God a priority in my life.  He isn't something "I have to do" or something on my "to do list".  I want to get to know Him better.  He's my best friend.  I go to Him for every need and for comfort and when I don't know what to do, I ask Him in prayer.  I am made in His image and He loves me.  He's not just my ticket to heaven.  He's not my crutch in this life.  He is my life.  He is the way, the truth, and the life.  And I want to share Him with others because of the way He has blessed me and continues to be faithful and bless me.  Even through trials and difficult times, I know He's still there guiding me, protecting me, and giving me wisdom to get through it.

Psalm 1: 1,2 Blessed is the man who walks NOT in the counsel of the ungodly, NOR stands in the path of sinners, NOR sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night.  He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.

Let's pray that...
*God will direct our steps
*May we be truly sorry when we don't follow God's laws
*Enable us to walk in the Spirit and not in our flesh
*As we walk in the Spirit may we bear fruit of love, joy, peace, kindness, goodness, and self-control
*Live a life of holiness so that as we walk through life we will be seeking to honor God in every facet of our life

Love Dare:
Go on a walk with your family and share what you are thankful for!  It's great to get out of the house and get fresh air, exercise, and give thanks to the Lord for all He continues to do in our lives!
