Prepping for the Big Party Day...

Tomorrow is Julia's Elmo Birthday party at the Taekwondo school. One of the perks of having a husband that owns his own school is you get to use the space for free!

I invited Julia's closest church friends, a library friend, and some of my closest friends with little ones. We decided to keep this party small and just for the little guys and the grandparents and our sisters.

John and I did some shopping on New Year's Eve (Julia's actual birthday) for some appetizers and paper products. I already put the kiddie goody bags together. Today we went to the school to set up and decorate. God was so good to us because the kids behaved so well.

We have about 10 kids coming, with parents of course, (8 of the kids are 3 and under). We are going to have face painting and free play on the mats. I brought a lot of Julia's fun cars, and rocking horses, Dora house, balls, and John has tons of fun things for the kids to do since he teaches kids as little as 3 1/2 and 4 (they call them the Cubbies in taekwondo). Basically the kids are going to love the huge open mat. I have some songs and games up my sleeve if there is any down time, but I have a strict schedule of events:

11:30-12:15 free play/face painting (our face painters are going to dress up as Minnie Mouse and Tinker Bell)

12:15-12:45 prayer over food, wash hands, pizza time

12:45-1:00 pray a blessing over Julia by Daddy and Mommy and sing Happy Birthday and enjoy yummy cake

1:00 Elmo will visit (We bought a costume for John to wear!!!)

1:00-1:15 Elmo will take photos with the kids who want to

1:15-1:30 free play and goody bags

I know after 2 hours Julia is going to be tired! She usually naps around 1:30 or 2:00 pm so I planned her party accordingly. I can't believe my little angel is two years old. She is speaking so much clearer now and really tells you if something hurts her or if she is upset. She is growing up. My favorite part of everyday is when we hold hands and she talks to me. Whether it be going up and down the stairs or getting ready to do her hair, she is really such a little gem.

I'm praying all the kids have a fun and safe time! I can't wait!!!
